We also have TWO Langella email discussion groups. The first one, called Langella Friends, is more or less open to all, just go to the Yahoo groups site linked here and click on Join, give a brief explanation of why you want to join us, and I'll let you in, usually within a day or so (sometimes I take a day off). Here we get to know each other, discuss Frank, our favorite Frank films, scenes, and plays, what we like about him, and we tease and console each other the way friends do. We do not allow fighting (except the occasional food fight) or personal attacks, and anything even remotely smelling like stalking will get you booted OUT promptly.

The second group we call Noises Off--it is a theatrical term, and has nothing to do with the play. Noises Off is and will remain invitation only, which probably sounds a lot more exclusive than it actually is. Once you join Langella Friends and we get to know you a bit (see above), if it feels like you'd fit in well with this older and much more intimate little group, I'll invite you. If you've been with Langella Friends a while and I've neglected to invite you, it could just mean I forgot (I do have a real job and other hobbies) or the group is too full for new invites at that moment: just email me with your desire to be invited to Noises Off and I'll reply yay or nay in a day or two. This is an older core group of women who have become very intimate over the past eight years, and the group is kept small for that reason. Some of our frivolous and 'frank-ly' silly discussions aren't well understood by strangers and newcomers, so we need this filter.

We do have "Rules of Engagement " for both groups, which may change as the need arises. It would be a good idea to read these before joining in the discussion.

You must join AND PARTICIPATE ACTIVELY in this group for at least 6 months before I will consider inviting you into the other group UNLESS you have a sponsor: ie someone already in NoisesOff. A letter to me, regardless of how well written, is not enough. You need to be part of the LangellaFriends group first
